Planning: Cover

Hey guys! So what's today's main focus? Cover design! This honestly has been what I've been looking forward to the most and what most excited for. So when I think cover the first and main thing that I think of is photography. The main image on the cover is such an important aspect of a Fashion magazine and I know that whatever in choose to do, it has to be good!

First thing I did was dive into media. Using what I had already seen through real publications and what style I wanted, I went to social media to look for inspiration. The main place I found inspiration was through Pinterest.

When looking, I found two different types of photo groups presented  in my searches : the right being softer and pretty while the left is more punk and dynamic. Based on what my magazine is like and the style I'm going for, I decided that the left side searches would be the best "type" or "theme" of photography I would like to implement. Using that, I now had to choose specific photos to try during the photoshoot.

Out of this, I found these 5 that ended up being the main ones I found most appealing and within the style I was aiming for. However, the one I like the most out of them all s the one below. Thinking of the outfit that Jordan has communicated with me, I think this pose can look very well if we substitute the headphones for the hood of his jacket. It would give more emphasis on his outfit and style while in a way framing his face, things very specific and needed in this type of photography.

Planning: Photoshoot/Model

 Hey guys! So today we'll be in a way talking about the cover, however we'll be focusing photography and finding a model. About a week ago I created an instagram post and boosted it across my socials in search of finding a model.

Through this, I was able to connect with a few possible applicants and have some good conversations about having them for the photoshoot. However, due to conflicting schedules and lacking factors like details needed for the feature article, there were only a few of the applied that actually qualified. Out of those few, I found a buy named Jordan Mesa to be the best fit for this project.

Having already worked with him before and him having experience, I thought he was a perfect fit for this project. Not to mention that he alines with the outlook of the project just as great, making him a great feature to have. With this being said, I hope to coordinate an outfit and time we can take photos.

Planning: Production Timeline

Hey guys! So I was able to make a production timeline today and just wanted to share the outlook for the next couple of weeks. I REALLY hope I'll be able to stay strict to it for my sake.

Project Proposal

Hello! My Name is Presley and as of today, (2/2), I will be officially starting the planning stages of my chosen brief.

Speaking of which, the brief I have chosen to make is a Fashion Magazine specifically centered around the Lgtbtq+ and pride community. Even in today's time, a lot of people struggle with identity and being true to themselves due to prejudice and ill intents of others. I would like to produce a publication that honors the community and shows off their pride loud and proud while connecting to fellow members of the community.

Because of this, I believe that the best choice for my Target audience should be a wider range/meant for everyone. If we are to talk specifics, younger males and females around teenaged to young adult will be my prime focus.

For my actual making of my brief, I have decided that using Adobe InDesign is just the best decision for me personally. I already have a few years working with Adobe and believe I will not only feel most comfortable with it, but also, I can do the most with it.

FINALLY Time to Plan!

Hey guys! After WEEKS of researching, it is finally time to actually start planning towards the production of my Fashion magazine. I'm actually really excited to officially start bringing my ideas to paper and break them down. I know I will definitely have a harder time now more then ever since I am absolutely horrible with making decisions (I'm indecisive :D), but I also know it will only be because I really want to do my best and make the best out of this process.
