Production: Cover

 Hey guys! So today's our last read production day! I'll still be working on this project, but only to fix up little things and make it look cleaner. Anyways, today I worked on the cover (aka. my favorite). I Think it came out really clean and I didn't really run into any "issues" per say. I think I was too excited with the design and layout that the things i may have gotten stuck on didn't startle me too much.

I did end up using the photo with the pose from my cover post that I said I'd like to use. I think its awesome and a great cover photo that would grab anyones eyes.

Production: Table of Contents

 Hey guys! So today I dedicated time to working on my table of contents spread. I was really struggling with motivation for this one since it was the least exciting pages out of them all in the brief. But, we made it through and were able to finish the spread.

Before I could finish however, I ran into one issue. How blank it looked. I knew that without some design factor the spread just looked empty and missing something. Thats when I started to play around with the pen tools and came up with the idea of rectangles or lines cutting through the page. Matching and bring more colors from the palette, I figured these "stripes" could represent the bisexual flag stripes even more and wrap my style together nicely.

Production: Feature Article

 Hey guys! So today I spent some time writing my article and photography for my spread. To be honest, I was initially a LOT more terrified, but once I started writing, I felt it started to come eventually. I would say it was definitely one of the hardest steps I've had to complete on this project so far, but I feel like I did great regardless.

As for the photography, knowing that it was going to be a full page image, I really wanted the photo to be one the best we took and visually appealing, but not taking the spotlight from my cover photo at the same time. However, I ran into one huge issue. My indecisiveness. I couldn't pick a photo to save my life! So what did I do? Went to the trusty public. I asked several people I knew for opinions, showig them my inspiration and the photos I took. Out of all the choices, I found this image below seemed to be the crowd favorite. Or in other words, our feature article spread image.

After some time of sitting with the decision, I have grown to love it. I think the image is exactly what I wanted and overall perfect. With that being said, thats all I got for you guys today.

Planning: Cover

Hey guys! So what's today's main focus? Cover design! This honestly has been what I've been looking forward to the most and what most excited for. So when I think cover the first and main thing that I think of is photography. The main image on the cover is such an important aspect of a Fashion magazine and I know that whatever in choose to do, it has to be good!

First thing I did was dive into media. Using what I had already seen through real publications and what style I wanted, I went to social media to look for inspiration. The main place I found inspiration was through Pinterest.

When looking, I found two different types of photo groups presented  in my searches : the right being softer and pretty while the left is more punk and dynamic. Based on what my magazine is like and the style I'm going for, I decided that the left side searches would be the best "type" or "theme" of photography I would like to implement. Using that, I now had to choose specific photos to try during the photoshoot.

Out of this, I found these 5 that ended up being the main ones I found most appealing and within the style I was aiming for. However, the one I like the most out of them all s the one below. Thinking of the outfit that Jordan has communicated with me, I think this pose can look very well if we substitute the headphones for the hood of his jacket. It would give more emphasis on his outfit and style while in a way framing his face, things very specific and needed in this type of photography.

Planning: Photoshoot/Model

 Hey guys! So today we'll be in a way talking about the cover, however we'll be focusing photography and finding a model. About a week ago I created an instagram post and boosted it across my socials in search of finding a model.

Through this, I was able to connect with a few possible applicants and have some good conversations about having them for the photoshoot. However, due to conflicting schedules and lacking factors like details needed for the feature article, there were only a few of the applied that actually qualified. Out of those few, I found a buy named Jordan Mesa to be the best fit for this project.

Having already worked with him before and him having experience, I thought he was a perfect fit for this project. Not to mention that he alines with the outlook of the project just as great, making him a great feature to have. With this being said, I hope to coordinate an outfit and time we can take photos.
