Hello and Welcome!!

Hello, my name is Presley and welcome to my blog!

Just for a little introduction, I am currently a Junior at West Broward High, and I would definitely say I'm more on the nerdier side of things. What do I mean by that? Well, I have always had a plethora of interests that I've honestly lost count of at this point. So much so that my bookshelf is actually pretty close to collapsing from the overload of books, comics, vinyls, and just general trinkets I have on it.

I love music and if out and about, will probably have some pair of headphones in as I'm doing whatever it is that's on the agenda for the day. I also love art and have been creating ever since I was little, though it was always for a hobby or school.

My favorite past time is playing video games with my friends and or hanging out with them. My ideal dream day is probably a quiet corner inside a Barnes & Noble with a coffee, good book, and myself. I love my friends and like going with them too, but I can't say I don't enjoy my solitude sometimes... (I'm an introvert). And yes, I have blue hair. It's my favorite color.

Media studies so far has been one of the most interesting and enjoyable classes I'm taking this year. Whether it's because of the general content in the course or the actual work itself, coming from a family full of movie nerds has definitely given me a starting interest in the class long before I ever sat down. I'm really intrigued and eager to see where this class goes and I can't wait for things to really get started.

Initially going over the portfolio, I will admit I was kind of intimidated. The idea of producing all these types of work while maintaining everything else in my life, such as other classes and work, in such a tight time frame just didn't seem plausible. However, the moment everything was broken down and the opportunity to start thinking about how I'd go about this whole thing rose, I realized I already had a few ideas of my own. With that being said, I hope in the end that I learn a lot about the tiny details of productions like lighting and camera angles or even font and color choices to really understand the exact meaning to or behind everything.

Honestly, I'm stuck in between the two choices of the film opening and magazine. On one hand I actually made a magazine before for a separate class and had a lot of fun creating and designing, but on the other hand, trying something new with a camera also sounds really interesting. For right now I do think the magazine is the route I'll be going with, thanks to the knowledge I already have with design, but until it's time to make the final decision, I'll keep the film in mind.

I hope you enjoy my nonsensical rambling and that I'll hopefully be somewhat entertaining. I'm so excited to see what comes and I can't wait to bring you along!

Thanks for reading, see ya next time! :)
